NCAA Sweet 16 in Detroit

Well, we, me, Cory, Mike, Shanna, and Paul, went to the NCAA Men's Sweet 16 in Detroit yesterday!! The games were a lot of fun!! We watched Davidson vs. Wisconsin and Kansas vs. Villanova!

The first game was Davidson and Wisconsin which was a great game I thought!! I am defintely a fan of Stephen Curry this year!! He is a great basketball player with a baby face! LOL He really does have a baby face, but he is a great basketball player!! Even though it was like a 17 point basketball game it was a great game to watch!

The second game was Kansas and Villanova, which was good for a little bit, then Kansas just took control and it got out of hand! There were so many plays that Kansas did that we all thought would be on ESPN and were!! It seemed like there were a lot of dunks on Kansas' end!!

We had at the Grapevine for lunch/dinner which was in the Greek Casino and then Shanna, Mike, and Paul played poker and gambled for a while. Gambling is defintely something that I cannot get into and defintely does not appeal to me whatsoever!

We got home about 4 this morning and then watched a little bit of ESPN to see what highlights were on about the games! Yup, there were quite a few from the Kansas/Villanova game!!

Tomorrow we are all going back to Detroit to watch the Elite 8 game, Davidson vs. Kansas and I am defintely cheering for Davdison!!!

GO DAVIDSON!!!!!!

What a crappy day weather wise!!

WOW!! What a crappy day weather wise!! It was raining and now it is snowing :( I was sooo hoping that winter was done officially and spring was here!! I am sick of snow and the cold weather!! The ground is covered with a blanket of snow, there is no grass showing whatsoever now :(

Other than the weather it was a pretty decent day!

Not too much going on...going to the sweet 16 in Detroit tomorrow and the Elite 8 on Sunday!!! I am defintely beyond excited about it!!!!

This weekend scrapbooking wise, I am aiming at getting some of my sister's baby shower invitations done so I can see how they are going to look! Pretty much a trial run for her baby shower invitations this weekend with colors, wording, and everything like that!!

It's Been A While.....

It has definitely been a while since I have blogged, so I thought it was about time!

Not too much going on…just working 5 days a week, some weeks I am working Saturdays for a couple of hours, but hey, it’s good money and I definitely need that!!

Women’s recreation volleyball is done!! We took second in state. Unfortunately I was not able to go, I had to work….I was really bummed about that, but I figured, ya know, I need the money, so I might as well work! Even though while I was at work and bored out of my flippin’ mind I wish I was playing. There was supposed to be 9 of us for a recreation state volleyball tournament! In my mind, that is too many. That is a waste of a Saturday and money, because you have to rotate, which means you rotate out and sit out there turns with rally scoring! Anyways, enough about that!

We have a co-ed recreation tournament coming up on the 6th of April, which we are undefeated in league play, so it will be fun to just be able to let everyone swing away and not care about all the complaining from the other teams! Yeah there is a lot of complaining from other teams because of our men players on our team! It is just funny! All we can really do is laugh about it anymore!

I am still trying to kick this lovely sickness out of my system! I have had it for over a month and it is really irritating! Some days I feel great when I wake up and other days I feel like crap! It is still in my chest and just drives me bonkers!

I got my dress for my sister’s wedding altered last night, well I should say I went and got it looked at by the person who is altering it for me! I have to go back 2 days before the wedding to make sure it is all good, so I definitely hope it fits!! LOL

I found out yesterday afternoon that my sister is having a boy!! I am sooo excited…still wished for a girl, but that is okay!! So, now I can start to make her invitations and see how they look and start getting all the decorations and stuff around for her baby shower, which is at the end of May right now! She is actually due August 9th, so I am sooo excited that I am an aunt!!!

Oh lets see….what else has happened??

The weather has been off and on here. We did get like a foot of snow Friday and Saturday and now it is just mud…YUCK!!! I wish this weather would make up its mind on what it wants to do. I do not thin that it is suppose to be above 50 this week.

We are celebrating my grandpa’s 80th birthday on April 6th. This is my mom’s dad! We are throwing him a surprise birthday party, where the food is being catered by the place that we are having it which is in an inn that is about 5 minutes from my grandparents house, so that will be lots of fun!

General Rambling....

Well once again it has been a while since I posted on here!! Things have been crazy busy!! I am planning my sister's baby shower which is in May or June. Yeah I know it's a little early to be planning the shower, but my hours at work are getting up there already! I worked about 54 hours this week! Which only means a nice paycheck!

Anyways....I am getting ideas and getting things in order for her shower. I pretty much know what I want to do, it is just putting everything together how I want it! LOL I am extremely excited to through her this shower and even more excited that I am going to be an aunt!! I AM HOPING IT'S A GIRL!!! :) We are having the shower at the church so that way my mom does not have to stress out about cleaning the house and then having people trample through it with their shoes!!

On top of work and planning this shower, I am suppose to have practice tonight for my women's recreation volleyball team, because we are going to state this weekend! Unfortantely my throat has been killing me since yesterday. Everyone at work has been sick the last two weeks and I was hoping I did not catch it, but right now it's not looking too promising! :(

Scrapbooking wise....I am working on finishing up my dad's Ecuador book then I am going to do some work on my mom and dad's book and my sister's baby shower invitations, since I have a lot of ideas for her invitations (which of course, are going to be handmade!)

Have a wonderful week!!

What are your scrapping plans for today?

Well, I just got back from a volleyball tournament in Sturgis and let me tell you!!! What a joke!!! That is all I am going to say about that....

Anyways...I plan on scrapping the rest of the day once I get done browsing the internet. I really need to work on my parent's anniversary scrapbook!! I have over 50 pages done, but I am not making a dent at all in the pictures...lol

Other than that, not much else going on. Worked all week. Taught myself how to use photoshop for work, since I am taking over for a guy that left and that is what he worked with making ads and things like that. So, that has been my week at work, along with doing everything that this other girl did, because her and her hubby went to Vegas for the week, but she is back to work Tuesday!!

Have a wonderful day!

It's been awhile!

Well, it has been awhile since I have posted on here, so I thought I better get back into the swing of things....lol

Well where to start.......

I'M GONNA BE AN AUNT!!!!! My sister has about 25 weeks left of her pregnancy. Not sure what she is having, she will be finding out here at her next appointment which is in the next couple of weeks. So, I am totally excited about that!!

She is also getting married on April 18th, which there are a lot of details to it, but the short version is, she is having a very very very small wedding this year, with like 10 people, if that, then next year on the same date they will have an actual wedding where they will invite everyone they wanted....that's the really really short version of it...there is a lot more to it, but....

I have been working. I worked almost 50 hours last week! Which just means a nice paycheck! :)

The weather has pretty much been crappy. Snow, wind, very cold! It is not suppose to get any better here in the next week at least. We are suppose to have a winter storm this weekend, either Saturday night or Sunday night.

I have been playing co-ed rec volleyball and women's rec volleyball, which both teams are indefeated and it is just a blast playing with the people I play with! Our women's team is going to state in March in Jackson (MI), which will be a lot of fun and interesting!

Um...what else....

Tanning like crazy!! It feels soo good and defintely lifts the spirits up!

Starting my weight watchers diet Monday! I'm not at all excited with my weight, so I am starting that and working out, so I am excited about that and getting back to the way I use to be before I got that lovely depo-vera shot!! I will never ever do that again!

Well...that is all I can think of right now....not too much going on with working all the time now!

Have a great rest of the night and a great weekend!!!!

Scrapbooking Crop

Well, I had a blast this weekend at the Scrapbooking Fundraiser Crop for a little girl that was struck by a car 3 years ago! They made over 6,000 dollars and that is not including what the vendors are chipping in also! They raised money for our fees which was 35 dollars to attend, they had shirts which were 7 dollars a piece. They also had silent auctions, that included items from lia sophia, bath and body works, and a bunch of other things! They also had a balloon pop, which were 7 dollars a piece, and we won a 25 dollar gift certificate for a hooded sweatshirt with a school logo, my sister won gift certificates to Wendy's and a free game of bowling, and my mom won picture frames and a towel that you can play checkers on!

We scrapped from 10am til 9pm. They had lunch, which included, desserts and sweets, hot dogs, and subs, with all the fixings, and chips. For dinner we had chicken wings, green beans and corn, sweets, breads, and cheese potatoes! It was great! They also provided drinks and snacks throughout the day.

They had a ton of vendors there, Creative Memories, Memories and something, Pampered Chef, a lady that did embossing, there was also a lady that I knew that did back massages for 10 minutes for 5 dollars!! My sister and mom had one and they about fell asleep! Avon was also there, and a couple of other ones that I cannot think of!

They gave away door prizes every hour, from scrapbooking supplies to hand made shelves and lia sophia jewelry and watches with interchangable bands. We did not win any though! There were a couple of numbers called around ours, one below one of our numbers and one that was 3 above ours! LOL They also had many giveaways! Pampered chef, avon and one other one did giveaways and raffles as well!

The scrapbooking vendors had sales at the end and throughout, from 40% off certain objects and at the end, they had 50% off a bunch of things because they did not feel like taking it home and 40% off everything else that is not in the 50% off piles!

It was a blast. I got about 15 pages done or so....maybe more maybe less I am not sure, I have not couted yet.

I bought a bunch of things, stickers, a t-shirt that says "Scrapbookers do it all night long" LOL They had two other ones, one about a husband and another about children and I do not have either, so I went with this one...lol...I also bought a little pink and brown bag that holds pens, scissors and everything like that....so I spent about 30 dollars with that and a t-shirt that says "Katie Weis 3rd Annual Fundraiser!" Plus the 35 dollar fee to attend, so about 65 dollars in all, which is all well worth it for a fundraiser!

Walmart was also going to match what they made while at the crop. They made 1000 dollars between 10am-pm, so they made 2000 dollars in that time with the walmart matching them! So that helps out a bunch!!

I HAD A BLAST!!!!!! I am defintely attending next year!!!

HUGE snowstorm!!

Well, I am just sitting around watching TV and browsing the internet waiting for this HUGE snowstorm we are suppose to get between tonight and tomorrow!! We are suppose to get between 7-14 inches between tonight and tomorrow afternoon/night!

I am usually not a person that likes snow, but I am super excited about all this snow for some reason! Other than that not much going on around here.

Saturday will be exciting! I am going to a scrapbooking fundraiser for a little girl that died 3 years ago.....I am excited that we get to scrapbook, not that the little girl died! The little girl was riding a 4-wheeler and went up into the road and was hit by a car. She was not very old at all, I think she was about 6 or 7, which I think is too young to be riding a 4-wheeler by herself, but that is my opinion. Me, my mom, and my sister are all scrapbooking. It was like 35 dollars a piece and the money goes toward her scholarship that they give one student who is graduating, so it is for a great cause!

We get to scrapbook from 10am til 9pm in the high school gym. She is providing lunch, dinner, snacks, and drinks. The mom of the little girl is the one putting this fundraiser on! She is also doing silent auctions, door prizes, prizes from popping a balloon, which everyone gets something from it. She has creative memories consultants coming, along with stampin' up, lia sophia, some other jewelery consultants, and a lady who is doing back massages for a dollar a minute! So there is defintely a lot going on!! I will update more probably on Sunday about everything and how it went!

If you are getting this huge snowstorm, please be careful if you are driving and stay warm!!!

Find a quotation that moves you and write it down. Why does it move you?

Remember nothing is ever as good as it seems,
Nothing is ever as bad as it seems,
But somewhere between the two is where reality lies!

This I have in my signature in all my emails, etc...My high school basketball coach, whom I consider my own family, along with his wife, use to say this to us before every basketball game and sometimes during practice and I played for him for 3 years and I managed for him in middle school! So that is defintely a quote that sticks in my mind all the time!

Enjoy today because you never know what may happen tomorrow!

This one defintely sticks with me and is so true! One should always enjoy the present day, because one may never know what may happen tomorrow to them or someone they know or love!

Well....the weather is still chilly! The wind has not been as bad lately as it has been in the last week or two!

We played co-ed volleyball last night which is always a new adventure for our team. We have fun together, but the other teams are always complaining and whining! We are in C league, and we were in C league last season. Well, we have one guy on our team that can really hit the ball!! Well, he hits hard and the other teams are always saying well you should move up and blah blah blah....Well, last season we were barely over 500. I think we were one game over 500 actually! Which in our rec league, you can pick the league you want to be in unless you win your league then you actually have to move up to the next league. Like we picked to be in C league, because we have not played as a team before the fall league, well 3 of us have, but the other 3 we have never played with. So, we have to deal with people complaining and everything, well in our books, until we win something there is no reason for us to move up a league!

Anyways, sorry about the rambling, but it does get kind of old the more it goes on!

Moving on....well not much going on today! Just doing some scrapbooking until I have my women's volleyball game tonight at the rec center!

What are you scrapping plans for the weekend?

Well, since it is freezing out! It was -4 degrees today when I went to work and they said it was suppose to be 23 degrees, but it never got above 15!!! Crazzzyy!!!

So, since it is so cold out, I am scrapping the rest of the night tonight after I get done browsing the internet. Then tomorrow, I will scrap throughout the day along with Sunday, until I have co-ed volleyball that night.

Since there is nothing going on this weekend, actually because I do not feel like going out in the cold weather, I am just staying in! If I do not have to leave the warmth, I defintely will not be leaving!! I am not a fan of cold weather!!

So, for scrapbooking, I am going to work on my mom and dad's anniversary scrapbook some more and get as much done as possible this weekend!!

I will probably also do a little bit of reading in my Harry Potter book 5 this weekend, if I need a break from scrapbooking, which I usually do for a couple of hours!!

Have a nice weekend!

Tuesday, January 22, 2008

How are you staying warm in this cold weather the country is having?

The weather has been sooooo crappy lately! Freezing, snowing, sleeting, icy, and windy!! Today is the warmest, mind you it was only 20 degrees, the warmest it has been over the last week! It's so sad!!

Well, I had to work today, so I did not get to stay inside all day and stay warm! I did most of the day while I was at work, but to and from work and a couple of times at work I was outside and it was sooo cold and slippery!

As of now, I am just browsing the internet and possibly going to scrapbook. If not scrapbook, I will probably read more of my Harry Potter book.

I started my harry potter books from book one when the last book came out and I was doing really good, then things slowed down a little bit and I am on book #5, something like page 100...so it is a slow reading process through the books again, but that is fine, I needed to read them again anyways! I just love them!

Monday, January 21, 2008

Still sooooo cold!!!

It was a cold one here again today! It was like 11 degrees but felt like one out!! BRRRR!! I hate cold weather with a passion!!

Well, I just got back from my rec women's volleyball game which we won! I have a lot of fun, we are a good volleyball and are going to state in March in Jackson! It will be interesting.

Other than that, not much has happened today! Just read my Harry Potter book #5, browsed the internet and watched some TV. Not a very exciting day at all! Relaxing, but not exciting.

Sunday, January 20, 2008

It's soooooooooooooo cold!!!!

Well what can I say other than it is...FREEEEEEEZZZING!!!!! It has not been above 10 degrees today and the wind chill has made it feel like below zero! It is only suppose to be like 3 degrees tonight and the wind chill is suppose to make it feel like minus 12 or close to it!!

Not much has been going on today, watched part of the Patriots/San Diego game until co-ed volleyball! Which we played a double header tonight and won both! I see the Patriots won!! YAY!! Now I am watching the Packer/Giants game!! Go Packers!!!

Other than I am probably going to scrapbook the rest of the night and see what else I can get done! We, my mom, me, and my younger sister, scrapped at the church yesterday and I got quite a bit done, but I would like to get some more done tonight, since it is sooo cold and I do not want to leave the house again!!

Saturday, January 19, 2008

It's Saturday!!

Well, my mom, my sister, Jaime, and me just got back from scrapping at the church from 8am til 3pm. It actually started last night, Friday. My mom and me went last night from 5pm til midnight. It was a lot of fun. We had all kinds of goodies. This morning they had breakfast casserole, one with ham and one with sausage, donuts, muffins, and goodies from last night. Then for lunch there were three kinds of soups and things for cold meat sandwiches! I defintely had a lot of fun there!
I got quite a bit done on my mom and dad's anniversary scrapbook! It is a slow slow process, since they have been married over 26 years and they take zillions and zillions of pictures. So, I do not do any in order, I kind of skip around and do what I feel like. I may do a couple of 2 page layouts from Disney, then go and do soem layouts of when I was little, or my sister, or brother were little. I have to skip around or I lose focus on it! I need a change in scenery! :)
Other than that not much has been going on. I am doing laundry right now at my mom and dad's, just catching up on what was dirty, that way the pile does not get too massive :)
Everyone is here right now, me, mom, dad, my younger brother Aaron, and my younger sister Jaime, and me! Jaime is a Senior at college right now and is engaged, so we do not get to see her too often, because she has a boy toy...lol! Aaron is just a busy boy! Always has friends over or is at a friend's house, so I think my mom and dad really enjoy all us kids being here, because they miss it so much, because me and Jaime have went our own ways now!
Anyways...sorry for the rambling! :)
I am going to play around on the internet for a few more minutes and then I am going to go play guitar hero with the other two siblings!
Have a wonderful day!

Do you tend to find yourself trying to keep up with the in scrappin trend or do you just go with what your flow is at that time & rambling

I can honestly say that I am not really into what the trend or the "in" stuff is right now. I just scrap and buy what I am feeling at the time. There are days where I just want some simple pages, or there are days where I go crazy with the layouts. It all just depends on my mood that day. Like when I go shopping, I may see something that looks fun and I just think I have to have, and then it may sit somewhere for a while and then I will finally use it. But I would say I just go with what I feel like most of the time.

Well unfortantely I found lice eggs in my hair last night :( My younger niece had lice at Christmas when we were at the grandparents, and she had them pretty bad I guess. So, we kept an eye out and looked through my hair for about a week and did not see nothing. Well, my mom and dad call last night and my younger sister had the eggs in her hair when they looked, so they called me and we looked last night and found some. So, we had to go by that lovely $14 bottle of RID to do my hair. Well it was on sale for $12 something, which is better than nothing :) So, we spent probably over two hours combing my hair and getting the eggs out. Not sure how many we found, but everything had to be put in bags, blankets, clothes, sheets, comforters, EVERYTHING...to be washed today! I had to take the day off of work, which I just started two weeks before they went on Christmas break, but with many of the workers having children, it was probably better for me to take the day off and clean than to have to go through this whole process again in a couple of weeks, because I did not clean and do laundry, and went to work for the day, when I could of avoided it all, by just taking one day off!

So, that was the night last night...bummer...now I have soooo much to wash it is not even funny. I was just going to go to my mom and dad's to do laundry, but after I looked at all the bags and stuff to wash, I would never get it done, so I guess I am just going to break down and go to the laundry mat...I hate those places...

The one that is in town, people smoke inside the place....YUCK! Sorry, but I do not smoke and I do not want my clean clothes smelling like cigarettes, especially when they bug the hell out of me, they make me all stuffy and sneezy and everything!

Anyways, I guess I better get my butt in gear for the day! At least going to the laundry mat will only take a couple of hours, instead of the whole day!!

Boring Day

Well not much going on today...still feeling crummy. I have been freezing all day.

Just watched TV, browsed the internet, and played my handheld game of Suduko! So, it was a pretty boring day.

Yesterday, we had co-ed volleyball, which we won. I love to play volleyball!

I did a little bit of scrapping yesterday on my mom and dad's anniversary scrapbook and got about 5 pages done, which does not seem like a lot, but, every page done is one less to do as the day gets closer....lol

Other than that I am just laying around the rest of the night because I have to work tomorrow.

So have a great rest of the night everyone!

Rambling....

Well, today was a crappy day. I am sick still and hate it! My nose is runny, my throat is a little scratchy and I just feel like shit in general!

I was suppose to go to my dad's side of the family Christmas, but missed that :( So, I am totally bummed about that!

I just woke up from a nap about 10 minutes ago! I hate sleeping my day away, but I am sooo tired at the same time from medicine.

I am freezing my butt off! I have slippers, t-shirt with a sweatshirt on and some sweatpants. My fingers and feet feel like ice!

I HATE BEING SICK!

Other than that I am just browsing the internet and my scrapbooking forums and I might scrapbook here after I am done browsing the internet and the boards.

Oh yeah and I am watching the Green Bay Packers and Carolina Panthers play-off game! It is only the third quarter right now, but I guess the Packers were down by 14 and now they are up 35-17! I'm not a Packer fan usually but for some reason, I always find myself cheering for them now when they are on TV. Probably because I watch them when they play a team I am not always a fan of....lol!!

What are you scrapping plans for the weekend? and other rambling!

Well, let's see for the weekend, I am just going to do scrapping when I feel like it. I have pictures to pick up from CVS, which I have yet to do! I am going to work on my mom and dad's anniversary scrapbook, which is a slow process, but coming along at the same time!

Tomorrow, Saturday, we have my dad's side of the family Christmas! Yeah it is late, but we have it after the first of the year now, so things calm down for everyone by then, well at least with the holiday rush it does :) So, after that I will probably do a little bit of scrapping. We will see. I have felt like crap since yesterday and do not seem to be getting any better!

It was one of the longest days at work today, probably because I did not feel good whatsoever, and plus it was a crappy day outside, rain and sleet, with a little bit of snow after that. It was just a blah type of day!

My aunt and uncle are up from Ohio, so I spent the night at my parent's house, since they were there and spent some time with them, well, at least until my cold medicine kicked it! Which boy did that pack a punch too and it was only a Meijer brand! It knocked me out cold for a couple of hours, got up for about an hour, if that, and went straight back to bed and got up this morning to shower and head to work! It was awful! I hate being sick!

Sunday, I have a co-ed rec volleyball game later on at night, so I will probably do some scrapping before and after the volleyball game, but once again it all just depends on how I feel!

Other than that, my weekend is pretty well just sitting around and trying to get better!

Monday, January 7, 2008

Just some rambling....

I just thought that I would do some general rambling today...lol

It has been gorgeous here in Michigan, yesterday it was high in the 40's low 50's and today it is high in the lower 50's like 53 or so....but that will not last long...it is suppose to be back in the 20's and 30's either tomorrow or the day after with snow flurries! That is Michigan for ya! :)

Not too much going on here...I need to do the dishes and clean the place, it is a mess! I would like to scrapbook, but we will see, I may not clean, and just scrap...I will see what my mood is here in a little bit!

I have women's recreational volleyball tonight, which I just love! I also play co-ed recreational volleyball on Sunday's! So, I am defintely looking forward to that, since I did not play women's volleyball during the fall, it is something to get me out of the house and out and about!

Well, I guess I should quit rambling about things and actually clean or scrapbook!

Have a wonderful day!

Friday, January 4, 2008

Do you try to join scrap/card challenges to keep you going on your projects or for inspiration from others?

Yes, I defintely join challenges to try and keep me motivated! I also join them for the inspiration from other scrappers! Without joining challenges, I honestly do not think that I would get as much done because there are days, sometimes even weeks that I just am not in the mood to scrapbook. But, I remember those challenges that I need to do, because I signed up for them!

I mostly sign up for challenges on two peas in a bucket and I just love the challenges there! If you are a scrapbooker and are not part of the two peas website, please come join you will love it! I know I do! You learn quite a bit from other marvelous scrappers and new techniques! It is just a great website overall!!!

Moving on to other things....The weather here has been pretty crappy! Freezing cold! BUT it is suppose to hit the 50's this weekend, which is just crazy!!! It was like 9 degrees the other night and a high of 20 and now it is going to be a high of 50 degrees! CRAZY!! :)
